Relaxation massage therapy is also known as Swedish massage. The primary goals of the swedish massage is to deeply relax the entire body, and to reduce stress. This is accomplished by using long gliding strokes on the superficial layers of muscle in the direction of blood flow toward the heart. Swedish massage is also exceptionally beneficial for facilitating a parasympathetic state which is needed for digestion, increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing the levels of the stress hormone cortisol, increasing the number of white blood cells that fight infection and boost the immune cells that may help fight colds and the flu, decreasing muscle toxins, and improving circulation and flexibility while easing muscular tension.
Specialty Lymphatic Drainage Therapy:
60 minute session $85
The main function of the Lymphatic system is the removing of metabolic waste from the body. The compromised quality of the air, water, food, etc., causes significant accumulations of metabolic waste products in our body, some of which are toxic. In many cases, this accumulation of toxins causes us to feel low energy levels, fatigue, mood swings. Lymphatic drainage massage therapy facilitates the removal of these toxins, and should be a regular part of self-care. Clients who receive full-body medical massage regularly (for example, on a weekly basis) should be getting a lymph drainage session every fifth treatment. Detoxification causes a significant improvement in the power and function of the immune system. A consistent detoxification program has proven very effective in protecting humans from infections. **IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO DRINK PLENTY OF PURE WATER AFTER RECEIVING A LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE.
60 minute session: $75
Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Prenatal massage has been known to improve many of the physical discomforts associated with pregnancy such as backaches, sciatica, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling).
In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, improves skin elasticity and body tone, helps to relax nervous tension — which aids in better sleep — and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes. Studies show that women who receive regular massage during their pregnancy are more at ease – furthermore, relaxing the fetus inside their womb.
